Real Version

Every morning, I enter a different world. Dimly lit by the neon lights on the sides, the bus is a “virtual” red light district. Passing by the alley between two rows of chairs, many faces are unidentifiable under the obnoxious colored lights of bright red, yellow, green and blue. Some faces appear distort as the passengers of the bus carry on their hushed conversations. With the natural trembling of the bus, bus starts for school. When the bus enters the highway, the shaking intensifies and even blurs the vision. In addition to all these discomforts, the bus gives the smell of the back alley as many students had entered with sweat dripping and soaked the seats many times before. The distracting light, intensive shaking, and repulsive smell create a perfect environment for: carsick.

Opposite Version

Every morning, the rainbow greets me on my bus. Decorated with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, navy, and purple neon lights, the environment reminds me of the peaceful scenarios presented by Teletubbies. Surely enough, the passengers confirm such a notion when they greet each other cheerfully as they enter the bus. And everybody on the bus, starting from kindergarteners to high school students, smell of perfume and cologne fills the air. In such a delightful environment, nobody can resist falling asleep to the slight hum of the bus’ engine. Can’t wait until tomorrow’s ride, everyday’s a new episode on the Teletubbies show.
