Tone of Voice - "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" “The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas” by Ursula K. Le Guin is incredibly well written. The changes in tone of voices of the narrator grabs on to the reader as it shifts the mood and focus of the story. At first, the story starts in a rather positive light. The narrator describes the beautiful town of Omelas. Her tone of voice is unbiased and enthusiastic, attracting the reader to be curious about this wonderland. However, by the third big paragraph, all of a sudden, the tone of voice is sarcastic. It mocks the previous beautiful optimistic descriptions by using sarcasm, integrating words that sound rather poetic and bright with disturbing and corrupt aspects of Omelas. This sporadic transition allows the narrator to transition into a critical phase. However, the arguments do not seem biased because of the author’s altering views and perceptions of the place. The changes in tone of voices reflect the phase an observer would feel. Thus, it provides readers with a very direct and clear view of the narrator’s descriptions.
Writing Style Assignment: Here I bring my personal meal in the story. Every grain of rice is still in my autonomic nervous system and in my frontal lobe. The rest is up to the readers to digest. 9:30 am one of the workers posted the new menu on the cafeteria door. Even today, there is a controversy over whether the price of each meal should be lowered or not. Students mostly agree. The fact is that the spoon the JJ Catering uses to put on our plates are rather too small! Ten days ago, any amount over one spoon full was not acceptable. I translate: inhumane scarcity at such a wealthy school.

It is not easy to write a blog post that attracts the reader to scroll the mouse in curiosity of the writer’s other posts. However, this guy writes in such way that makes boring topics interesting. His writing style is something that I would like to learn to incorporate in my blog posts. He starts off each post very casually, describing his normal routines. Naturally, this casual introduction smoothly transitions into the main topic. His writing style is rather reader-friendly, even in topics that might be controversial and arguable. His topics are very relevant to who he is as a person, and therefore reveals his inner characteristics.
Find a blog that discusses a topic in-depth in some way that you are interested in. Either comment on their blog, quote them on your blog and link to their blog with a message on theirs that you did so, or some other way of connecting you have. This blog post has every component that makes a blog post “good”. A catchy title, brief but strong introduction, emphasis on the key points, a conclusion that leaves a lasting impression and a writing style that keeps the readers attentive. The blogger also incorporates many outside resources, that are familiar to the audience. His voice is very strong, maybe too strong, but I personally enjoy reading very biased posts, since they clearly reveal the writer’s opinions and thoughts.
