Daedalus was an architect/inventor. He designed the which was a maze on the island of Crete. He was imprisoned in this Labyrinth and in order to escape, he made wings for himself and for his son, Icarus. These wings were made of feather held together by wax, Daedalus told his son not to too close to the sun, but Icarus did not listen to this warning and he flied too high up. The sun melted the wax and he fell.

1. What do you think about Icarus? Discuss his character and action (several possibilities)
Icarus is childish and immature.

2. What do you think of the consequences of his actions? Was it a punishment? A natural event? An important event?
You can escape the maze but you can not escape the eyes of God. Challenging and underestimating the God’s power.
We see sheep, ships, guy putting his hand down in the water, sun covering every portion of the picture, sea, legs, shepherd, something looks like a snake, maze,

Everything looks so peaceful. Nothing seems wrong. The world continues despite tragedy.

The world continues. Ignorance is bliss.
